when its booting up
hit the F8 key

that should bing you to safe mode.

also try hitting the ESC (escape) key
when its booting.
that might show you whats going on behind the bootup
and splash screens

if you still have trouble,
try this site

First thing check to see if there is a floppy disk in the floppy drive and remove it. second do the same for cd/dvd trays. If that doesn't work it could be a virus and you might need to restore to the default computer settings (set your computer to how it was out of the box making you lose all your data) by using the recovery disk that came with it. But thats the last thing you should do. Just reboot and during POST somewhere at the bottom of the screen it should say boot mode or something along those lines and next to it it will say press F2 or ESC or DEL once you find out which one it is it will list a few options just choose boot to safe mode with or without networking (theres usually two options). Then it will look all weird but its normal just run an antivirus scan if you have one hopefully and or a malware scan once thats done reboot normally and if it still doesn't work you're in for it

It could be a number of things. Since you cannot seem to boot th e computer past the BIOS screen, I would suggest that you open the case (WITH THE POWER OFF) and make sure your RAM is seated firmly. If you could keep track of any POST beeps that occur and can IM me then I can be of more help. The more information you can give the more help can be given. It could be a power supply issue, a motherboard issue, or RAM issue.

How far does it get? It does the basic hardware checks and then does it go beep?

In that case it does not load the operating system. You will have to boot it from a boot disk. If you do not have a bootable floppy disk then you will have to boot from a bootable CD and go into Recovery console and check/repair your system.

Hi. Boot into 'Safe' mode by tapping the F8 key while booting and see it it boots. Then run any malware software you have to correct errors.
