I've always wondered what the blue looking light is that almost looks like a bug zapper in restaurants, and I've seen them in emergency room waiting rooms as well. They are usually placed high on the wall with the light (about a foot or so long) is in a wire cage. I have no Idea what purpose they could serve. Anybody have any clue? I noticed it said VECTOR as the brandname or whatever.

They are a bug Trap, there is two sided tape in them and they attract the bugs just like the zapper they land and are stuck to the fly paper like tape. (at least they are not zapped near our food.)

They are probably UV emitting lamps that are used to kill germs in the area.
