In many Cities, the max. height of a fence is 6 feet. If you live on a corner lot or double frontage lot, then there may be restrictions on the height or location within your property. Some Cities also enforce a sight easement on corner lots so that the view of drivers is not limited to a dangerous level.

There is no imposed limit unless you are governed by a community housing entity. There are a lot of them in some areas. California is really bad about them. They take away your freedoms, and tell you how to live. If there are no community organizational rules then the standard is 6 ft. This allows plenty of privacy.

Most cities and towns have ordinances governing the height of fences. Contact your local building department and ask.
It varies by towns.

It depends. Usually it's 6' or 8', but things like city codes or Homeowner's Association rules can affect it.

Generally it's either 6' or 8'. You'd have to contact either your neighborhood association (if you have one), your city office of your county office for the actual info. Some areas are really strict about it.
