I'm looking for answers that have statistics to back it up and a good explanation.

1.) Which MLB park is the most "friendly" for a batter to hit a triple in?

2.) What are general conditions needed for a player to hit a triple? (outfield player locations, pitch type, type of hit, etc.)

3.) What is the record for triples in a single season?

4.) Who led baseball in triples last season?

5.) Which player is the most recent to hit a cycle in a game?

1. Since triples don't happen as often as other events in baseball, the stats can vary a lot from year to year. For example, last year, the Rogers Centre had the highest triples ballpark factor, they were middle of the pack. Looking at the names that show up a lot, the most consistant triples parks are Chase Field, Comerica Park, Coors Field, and Kauffman Stadium, in no order.

2. Usually, triples happen on line drives hit to gaps, or pulled down the line. Lining a ball against a defensive shift can usually yield a triple, but just hitting it where they ain't, and running it out leads to a lot. Speed is a big factor. Big parks lead to more triples as well, as the ball can go farther, and the outfielders are more spaced out. That's why way back when, there were a lot more triples, and less homeruns.

Surprisingly, a lot of triples are hit to right field, and almost none are hit to left. It isn't a surprise that this leads to lefties hitting more triples than righties. It may be because most leadoff-type hitters switch hit now, and they bat lefthanded because there are more right-handed pitchers.

3. The single season record for triples was achieved by Chief Wilson for the 1912 Pirates, where he hit 36 in 583 ABs. He was also lefthanded. The career leader is none other than Sam Crawford, with Ty Cobb close behind. Both lefthanded.
14.

4. Jose Reyes led the league in triples last year with 17. He is a fast switch hitter. Carl Crawford led the American League with 16 (a lefty).

5. The latest player to hit a cycle is Chone Figgins, who achieved the feat Sept 16, 2006. Five players hit cycles last year. No player has hit one yet this year.

3) Chief Wilson - 1912, 36 triples. Pittsburgh Pirates

4) Jose Reyes - 17 Triples. New York Mets

5) Chone Figgins Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim 09-16-2006

On a side note: The closest a major league player has come to hitting for the home run cycle was on April 26, 2005 when Alex Rodriguez of the New York Yankees hit 3 home runs off Los Angeles Angels pitcher Bartolo Colon. Rodriguez hit a 3-run home run, 2-run home run, and a grand slam in the first, third, and fourth innings, respectively. He later, in the bottom of the eighth inning, just missed a solo home run, lining out to Steve Finley in deep center field.

i think of human beings could attend the two - if feasible. I stay close to the stadium the place the Cardinals and Marlins have spring training and that they actually %. them in for 4 weeks each and every spring. throughout the time of something of summer we've the Florida State League with the class A Jupiter Hammerheads and Palm sea coast Cardinals - regrettably, they are not getting lots of a turnout which makes me unhappy for the gamers. They artwork difficult obtainable in the nice and comfortable Florida solar and deserve some cheering followers. The cost ticket cost is a lot decrease and you nevertheless get to work out great baseball and great up and coming gamers.

You are asking several questions here!! The "mechanics" of getting a triple is to hit the ball somewhere in fair territory and get to third base in the process.

Chow!!
