It will never return to you. The breaking of the hymen is usually occurs during sex or when a tampon is inserted. When it breaks in the course of a tampon insertion, it's hard to know if it broke because you are bleeding anyway and usually have cramps, so you could or couldn't feel it. The breaking of the hymen, is often called "popping the cherry." Once it's broken, it will never repair itself.

I killed that thing. First with estrogen cream, because it was too thick. That was decades ago. That cream totally dissolved that miserable piece of tissue. I made sure I got rid of every little bit! Then I was finally able to have sex. Then I got married. After a while our sex life slowed down and here it is, 29 years latter... why do I suddenly have some hymen tissue where there wasn't any a few years ago??? I mean, I KNOW what it is, I got RID of it when I was young. Now I have to get rid of it again.

It never grows back. Totally a myth. Though, you can have a new hymen (though it's not a true hymen) surgically attached.

Hymens will never grow back, since humans cannot regenerate.
