Remember though, infared is not like a lot of people think. they think it only show those items that are hot, for example. This is not entirely true, it shows all object that posses any heat, it is just some object will appear in one shade ( The most heat) and other objects another shade ( the least heat) and everything else will be a shade between the two, based on their temp.

So you should be able to see about 90% or better inside a home, most object posses some degree of heat.

thermal imaging (I believe infra-red). They can see the heat of bodies walking around the house. Sonar, just like in the water they can send a "ping" like a radar.

Infrared works to some extent. Cops can see the heat lamp in the closet that you are using to grow illegal plants.
