I hope that's a joke.
The Red Sox currently have the best rotation and bull pen in the league.

Curt Schilling: 4-1/3.28 ERA
Josh Beckett: 7-0/2.51 ERA
Daisuke Matsuzaka: 4-2/4.8 ERA (rough start)
Tim Wakefield: 4-3/1.79 ERA

Even if you argue Dice K is a bust, we still have the best rotation in baseball. I have a feeling Tavarez will be moved to the bull pen for Jon Lester, a huge improvement.

Bullpen Stars:

Hideki Okajima: 0.56 ERA in 16 IP
Jonathan Papelbon: 1.46 ERA in 12.1 IP
Brendan Donnelly: 0.93 ERA in 9.2 IP
Kyle Snyder: 2.0 ERA in 9 IP

Sounds pretty INCREDIBLE to me. Arguing the Sox don't have adequate pitching is more ridiculous than arguing the Yankees don't have adequate offense.

Who do you think is better in the AL East? They are, hands down, better than Baltimore, Tampa Bay, and Toronto. I guess some might argue that New York could get hot and go on a winning streak, but right now, Boston is better than them. And you can't say that their pitching staff is bad. Shilling is 4-1 with 37 k's. I'm not totally sold on Matsuzaka, but he is 4-2 with 47 k's. Wakefield has looked great in his last 2 games, and has a 2.11 era. Only time will tell, but I have to say they're the favorite for the East right now.

Big time WS winning pitchers like Jeff Weaver? Who did the White Sox have? they didn't have stars, they had 5really good guys.

You don't need star pitching to win the WS.

Schilling has rings, Beckett is a WS MVP, Matsuzaka was a huge star in pressure situations in Japan.

I think they can do ok..

What other big-time pitcher do you people need? Beckett is 7-0, Schilling is considered "big-time", you paid $103 million for Dice-K. Wakefield just pitched 7 innings of 3-hit baseball, his season ERA is 1.79. That is already one of, if not the most formidable starting staff in baseball.

The only questionalbe pitcher the sox have is Tavarous (however it's spelt) and he'll be out of the rotation once Lester is back.
