3= 2x, divide

x = 3/2

2x + 3 = 6
Cover up the 2x with a finger then ask what number would have to be under the finger.
Answer to this is 3 and therefore:-
2x = 3
x = 3 / 2 = 1.5

6=2x+3
6/2 =2x/2 +3/2
3 = x + 1.5
3 - 1.5 = x
1.5 = x
