On tonight's episode Meredith's father was mad at her for not going to someone's furneral, was it her mother's or her father's wife.

Susan, Thatcher's wife and Meredith's stepmother, who was played by Mare Winningham. She died of an infection that developed after they repaired a perforation she had related to gerd or acid reflux that presented itself as hicups to begin with. Thatcher blames Meredith because she told him that everything would be fine and it wasn't so he slapped her when she came out to tell him they did all they could but they couldn't save Susan. It was Susan's funeral and he didn't want Meredith there.

Meredith's father;s wife died last episode. Meredith's father blamed her as she had suggested the medical procedure that eventually caused her death. Tonight he came to the hospital and told her NOT to go to the funeral. He was angry but not because she didn't go. He was angry because he blamed her for his wife's death.

Meredith's father wasn't mad at her for not going, he showed up at Seattle Grace drunk and told her that she was not welcome at his wife's (not her mom's) funeral. Then he made the same accusations as last week telling Meredith that she killed her.

OMG it was Susan's funeral. Meredith's dad was blaming her for Susan's death bc she came in last week with hicups and then something went wrong and she died while she was in surgery.
