There are serveral good reasons to use Linux.
Cost and stability are fairly good ones.
Linux is quick and easy to setup (once you have done it a few times) hardware requirements are much less. (linux runs just fine on 128meg ram and even older processors)
Open Source apps for Linux are becoming more advanced. Like Open Office.
Makes a very good file server for any office system.
Makes a very good and stable web server, ftp server, email server etc for web use - again with less hardware requirements.
Web browsing and email are great within Linux.
Fewer issues with trojans, worms, viruses.
PC and Mac offers more applications availablity and more familiar interface for many items.

I use it, many businesses use it, web hosting companies use it, the US government uses it, many many routers use it.

Why you should change to it, Depends on what you are doing with your computer? If it is used for word processing, spread sheets, presentations, email, web browsing, databases, etc then linux can do a great job and costs much less and is much more stable than any other OS. You can also use it with hardware that others are throwing out due to the requirements of the newer Windows systems.

ok, first of all, I use Windows XP Pro AND Linux dule-boot on my laptop, and xp pro and Windows Longhorn Server beta 3 on my tower. Linux is hard to use and configure, but it is safe and virtually spyware/virus free. Same as Mac OS X, not attacked as much as windows and Mac is easy to use.
