I used to work for a window tinter for a while. He was known around Dallas so he had tons of clients (leasing agents, dealerships, and ultimate consumers), and he made about $5000 a week give or take. I know it would take quite a while to get a customer base that large, but I want to start my own window tinting business. I'm a college student so this would be a way for me to make cash on the side.
I am going to purchase the supplies to start tinting again. After a brief period of "breaking the rust from the bolts" I plan to start looking for clients. Now what I am curious about is how should I go about this.
(I plan on being known as a mobile window tinter) So I do not have a shop, but my house has a small garage. I'm getting off target...basically what would you recommend I do to get my name out there?
Keep in mind I am poor college student.

Here is my advice:
If you really want to do this start with a different point of view. Consider what you can offer and what makes you unique. Let's say it's the fact that you do the best installations at your customer's home etc. The convenience factor , or that you carry a brand of film that has value added for your customer's. It may sound corny, but there is no better advice I can offer you. It's not about money , it's passion for something that your potential client's will find valuable. It's about doing and being the best that you can possibly be.
Some people call this customer first thinking and I guess that's accurate.
If you find your passion, serve your customers the best possible way and dedicate yourself to excellence. .the profits will likely arrive.

Quick question - are you doing this in your garage or outside. I'm thinking it might be difficult for you to do it mobily because of the weather, environmental factors (dust, wind, etc) and you will need to do it indoors.
So, with that out of the way, start with your college - do a college special. Do a few for cost to have to show your work. Make sure to keep a photo album and also a book of shades for people curious to look at. Put up fliers in every dorm on campus, in the different buildings. You can make these up right there, and if you want to save money or your printer just email it to the local staples for cheap copies. you can also make some business cards by doing this too.
if you know of a company that has a lot of vehicles they may want tinted, offer to tint one car for half the competition to show off your skill. You will definately want to use word of mouth.
If you are doing a true mobile service put up fliers at local stores with a picture of a tinted car saying things like, "have your car tinted while you work" "no need for an appointment, I'll come to you"

How about passing out business cards at car shows, automotive shows, home shows, or similar. Put business cards on bulletin boards at coffee shops and restaurants. Another great idea, in my opinion, is to walk some parking lots, taking note of the window tinting, and put business cards on windshields. Word of mouth goes a long way, tell your friends. Make a few ppl a great deal. Then work out from there. Making a website is always an option.

Word of mouth, basically...tell all your friends, family, relatives, classmates, neighbors, places where you hang out. And stop by dealerships, stereo shops, quick lube, performance shops, etc and hand out business cards or fliers you have made up....not too expensive. Stop in periodically or they'll forget you're around. Put up fliers in grocery stores, barber shops, etc. Main thing is to guarantee your work is well done and affordable and convenient but to make money long term, you need to have a customer base like dealerships that need your service often. Hair loss affects both men and women. Here are some natural remedies that can help boost hair growth: https://tr.im/aKQxY
While genetics plays a role, there are other factors, including: hormonal imbalances, an underactive thyroid gland, nutrient deficiencies and insufficient scalp circulation.
