A disgusting bloated bigot that perpetuates racism.
If he would clean the grease out of his hair and fluff it out, he would look just like the orangutan he is.

I think he used to be a good civil rights leader, he did some good things in the past, but now is a pathetic attention-whore. He'll jump on any bandwagon thatll get him on TV.
Take the Imus scandal for example. Imus obviously was just trying to be funny and failed dismally, but hell, that happens in when you have to be entertaining for an hour in total improv. He didnt mean it to be hurtful, and he apologized a million times, but Al Sharpton was there like the PC Nazi that he is beating that issue to death and getting in as many primetime news appearances as possible.
I thought it was pathetic and he lost much of my respect over that. He seems to have jumped into this Political Correctness nonsense with a furious passion. Like I've always said, its the not the words that matter, its the intent behind them. I dont mind racist jokes when the person clearly isnt a racist. But if a clearly racist guy makes a racist joke, that bothers me a bit.
But even then, its a free speech issue above all. No-one should be able to fire people for saying something stupid. Thats something youd expect out of Nazi Germany, not the USA. And Al Sharpton should know that, but apparently doesnt.

As a person, I don't know him that well, so I cannot judge him. On the other hand, as a "representative" of his community, he's not a "positive" person to look up to! I mean, there's a lot of honest, open-minded, respected people out there who can represent their views in a large scale without being pompous.
Also, I don't know why media people interviewed him or Jesse Jackson all the time to represent their "people." As what I said, there's a lot of more respectable people than both of them who can give a positive light and inspiration to others.

He is an idiot and a racist. If you read back over the years about some of the things he has done, you will get a jolly good laugh. He took the side of a young girl who claimed someone had rubbed poop on her. She was lying as it turned out. Many other instances.

I think he's been an embarrassment to leftists ideas for years and why we continue to tolerate his silliness is beyond me. To me he is a racist religious zealot in sheep's clothing. His claim that atheists are anti-America is a slap in the face to the founders. While I defend his right to say what he wants, we all should have long ago stopped listening to this race/religion baiter.

Leave Imus alone, leave the rappers alone.
"Freedom of speech means that you can say what you want, even if it is distressing to other people."
and "Is freedom of speech gone in this country?"
-Carlos Mencia
EDIT: I demand that Sharpton apologizies to the white race because of the slanderous accusations of a black dancer against three white students, and if I have to call him an 'African American', he has to call me a 'European American'.

He is the biggest racist in the U.S. and never gives up his quest to divide the Nation and make blacks believe they are victims who need big Al to look out for them.
He is a disgrace to his own race. He feels superior to them all.

He is one of the reasons many white people actually feel they are the ones being discriminated against, and therefore feel that they shouldnt treat colored people with as much respect. His tirades and attacks defeat the purpose of gaining equality and eliminating segregation. He is a polarizing figure, and he is harmful to our country.
