It's for a book club parade and I thought perhaps a tiger but have no idea where to start!

A tree frog would be so cute! Look for pictures on the internet. You could sew suction cups onto the fingers of gloves, put some bright clothes on and make a hood or headband with ping-pong ball eyes.
For a tiger just sew (or glue) on some felt diamonds of varying sizes onto the back of an orange shirt. Get a pair of orange tights and stuff one side of them to make a tail (add more felt to this if you like.) Use the other side to make round ball ears and attach to a headband or elastics or bobby pins. If your child has long enough hair you can spike the hair into "ears" too with special spiking gel or make "ears" with elastics. They will feel so cool! And don't forget to paint the tip of the nose black and make whiskers!
