The universe is almost all hydrogen. The part that isn't hydrogen is almost all helium.

The 2 most plentiful elements on Earth are silicon and oxygen, because the Earth is mostly rock, and most rocks are silicates of some metal or other.

The two most plentiful elements in the earth are oxygen and silica. Almost all rocks are formed from a combination of the two (silicates) I dont know if this would apply to the universe though.

I'm not an astronomer of a physicist, but lately they have discovered that the most abundant element in the universe is dark matter that is all over the place in outer space and nobody seems to know what it is. The second if I'm not mistaken must be the basic components of stars Hydrogenum.

The two most plentiful elements must be carbon and nitrogen.
Reasons why:
1. Carbon is found in all organic items. Organic items include many macromolecules (carbohydrates, proteins, nucleic acids, lipids), and in all organisms living or dead.
2. Nitrogen is the most abundant element in the atmosphere (approx. 70-80% of the air around us), and in addition, it is constantly recycled by bacteria that consume dead organisms. (These consumers are detritivores, or the common fungi or some bacteria.)
Hope this helps!

Hydrogen and helium, by far.

The rest of the list would be the simple by-products of nuclear fusion. The fusion reaction series is something like...

hydrogen-helium-carbon-silicon-metals (V,Fe,Ni)

hydrogen and helium cuz they form the big majority of all stars ;))
helium if made by fusioning atoms of hydrogen in the millions of degree C in the middle of stars...same for sun
