I read that the Democratic Party will not send a funding bill to President Bush that he can support because a socialist organization, "move on.org" controls the Democratic Party. I personally prefer John McCain for President because he is a true patriot but will support another candidate if they are against abortion and support the War in Iraq. I love the USA and I'm going to enlist after graduation with my boyfriend and he and I will get married by an Army Chaplan after we complete our training. Four years after our enlistments are up we will have a lot of kids, I'll be a stay at home mom, and he will go out and get a job (HE BETTER!!). But until than we will fight for our Country, the GREATEST!! Country on the Earth.

Wow it sounds like a lot of those goals of communism are actually part of the Democratic Party. The idea of promoting homosexuality and disarming the USA are two goals expounded by the Democratic Party. Are there any moderate members of the Democratic Party out there?

I just got a lesson in life that is worth it's weight in gold. An answerer to my question gave me a perspective that frankly I never considered before. After reading her answer I believe that health insurance should be available to all Americans. Also, for families that have adults who want to better themselves there should be free training and education to help breadwinners train for a higher paying job. I don't think that supporting these two things changes my mind about NOT supporting the Democratic Party because of their leftist leanings. The well being of American families is not a conservative or liberal issue.

I guess daddy's little princess who lives in a secure family with enough to eat and health care and a good school to attend needs to learn a thing or two about life and be cognizant of the struggles of many people for a better life.

Thanks Francis for your great answer. Oh I'm appreciative of the other answeres too especially one with the communist links.

I just want to make sure that I do not slight any of the other great people who are taking their time to answer my question, not just the two who I already singled out for praise. This also extends to the other people who may answer after this addendum. Thanks again to all of you.

If you were someone living in poverty who worked for only $6.00 ($12,636 per year before taxes) per hour 39 hours per week (because the company would not let you work 40-then they would have to provide benefits) you didn't have the money to go get a better education (college), and were trying your hardest to find a better paying job, with no luck, then you would need help to pay your bills-are you supposed to starve and die of some disease that could have been preventable if your company had just provided you with insurance?

This is why a national health care system is needed: because retail and service jobs are doing away with offering health insurance, and insurance for outside a job is extremely costly.

I worked at a job for 2 years that paid only $6.35 per hour-they always told me I did a wonderful job, but never promoted me or gave me a raise. What I was told before hiring in was that I was too experienced and they couldn't give me anymore than $6.35 per hour.

Prior to that job I had worked as a Department Manager for Albertson's: I had studied and worked hard to get that position and I made $11.25 per hour, 40 hours per week , with benefits, but they laid everyone here off in 2002-not because the stores weren't making money (the store I was at made $400-500,000 a week), but because they wanted their stock prices to soar.

Now no one will hire me for more than $7.00 per hour and for anything other than cashier work, even though most of my experience lies in other departments.

Anyway, my point is that there are many people who work hard and still get nowhere-not everyone wants a handout-some of them need it to survive. I think we should encourage them to become more, while helping them to get there.

Currently I am a stay at home mom-because we could not afford daycare for us both to work, and when we did both work we barely saw each other and did not get enough sleep. So we make it by on my husbands wage of $12.50 an hour, 32-35 hors per week, because we are really good with our money, but if we have a real health emergency we will be flat broke.

Neither my husband or I have health insurance-he has to wait until they promote him to full time-which may or may not happen this year. Our son has state coverage because we will not let our baby go without it (he's 2), and we qualify.

My husband plans on trying to get a grant or a loan from the government that he won't have to pay back until after he completes his education to get a job in the IT field, if he does not get promoted soon.

I would love to go back to work, and I probably will when my son goes into preschool-but I hope I can find a job that will make it worth my while to be there. I don't want to plod through years of work at the same rate of pay, even though I work very hard. And from what I have heard a lot of the retail companies have put a cap on their wages now, and anyone who was a above that new cap is being let go. (Circuit City and Walmart are two of them)

This is what I see in Obama: helping out those of us who cannot get anywhere no matter how hard we try. And someone who will actually listen to the American people instead of lobbyists and PACs: he does not accept money from those groups.

If you don't know much about him, you might want to read his book "The Audacity of Hope"-even if you don't plan to vote for him, it is an excellent book.

By the way, the Democrats do not promote being gay-they simply stand up for rights for all human beings. We don't say they are right or wrong-we don't believe we have the right to tell people they are right or wrong, but that they should be able to choose what they want.

I'm not specifically a Democrat, but I tend to lean liberal in my views, because I simply feel I should not tell someone else what to do with their body-they may not be of my belief system: it is their choice and they will be the only ones who have to live with a consequence, if any.

I love America, too, but I think we could be a greater place if we worked together instead of arguing all the time over every issue.

Well, were that the case, socialists would obviously support the Democratic party. Communists might settle for Democratic candidates, too, since thier own Peace & Freedom folks barely make it to the ballot. Really, you're underestimating the degree to which socialist ideals have become accepted in large parts of America.

Yet another who has drunk the Kool-Aid of the neo-conservatives..... Take off the rose-colored glasses and see what your party has REALLY done to this country: turned it from the most respected in the world to now the most despised. Think woman!!! Don't become another mindless member of the flock......

Because they do not have the brains to make their own decisions and manage their own lives.

Because they want to be taken care of cradle to grave.

Because they are jealous of those who work hard and really succeed in life. They are too lazy to succeed by hard work, good living and depending on themselves to enrich their lives.

I am an independent voter that has voted Republican for more than 20 years now. I have not voted for a Democrat for president since Lyndon B Johnson (which was a mistake). I think you and your future husband have some honorable plans and wish you both all the good fortune that you deserve. I DO think that the people that control the Democratic party are a notch above socialists. I think they are dyed in the wool communists. Here is why I think that. NOTICE THE NUMBERED GOALS THAT HAVE NOT BEEN REALIZED AND HOW CLOSE THE DEMOCRATIC PARTY'S IDEOLOGY CORRESPONDS TO THEM:::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::
1963 Communist Goals
Printable Version
The communist goals were entered into the Congressional record by Albert Herlong, Jr. (a Floridian who served in Congress from 1949-69).
1) US acceptance of coexistence as the only alternative to atomic war.
2) US willingness to capitulate in preference to engaging in atomic war.
3) Develop the illusion that total disarmament by the US would be a demonstration of "moral strength."
4) Permit free trade between all nations regardless of Communist affiliation and regardless of whether or not items could be used for war.
5) Extension of long term loans to Russia and Soviet Satellites.
6) Provide American aid to all nations regardless of Communist domination.
7) Grant recognition of Red China, and admission of Red China to the UN.
8) Set up East and West Germany as separate states in spite of Khrushchev's promise in 1955 to settle the Germany question by free elections under supervision of the UN.
9) Prolong the conferences to ban atomic tests because the US has agreed to suspend tests as long as negotiations are in progress.
10) Allow all Soviet Satellites individual representation in the UN.
11) Promote the UN as the only hope for mankind. If its charter is rewritten, demand that it be set up as a one world government with its own independent armed forces. (Some Communist leaders believe the world can be taken over as easily by the UN as by Moscow. Sometimes these two centers compete with each other as they are now doing in the Congo).
12) Resist any attempt to outlaw the Communist Party.
13) Do away with loyalty oaths.
14) Continue giving Russia access to the US Patent Office.
15) Capture one or both of the political parties in the US.
16) Use technical decisions of the courts to weaken basic American institutions, by claiming their activities violate civil rights.
17) Get control of the schools. Use them as transmission belts for Socialism, and current Communist propaganda. Soften the curriculum. Get control of teachers associations. Put the party line in text books.
18) Gain control of all student newspapers.
19) Use student riots to foment public protests against programs or organizations which are under Communist attack.
20) Infiltrate the press. Get control of book review assignments, editorial writing, policy-making positions.
21) Gain control of key positions in radio, TV & motion pictures.
22) Continue discrediting American culture by degrading all form of artistic expression. An American Communist cell was told to "eliminate all good sculpture from parks and buildings," substitute shapeless, awkward, and meaningless forms.
23) Control art critics and directors of art museums. "Our plan is to promote ugliness, repulsive, meaningless art."
24) Eliminate all laws governing obscenity by calling them "censorship" and a violation of free speech and free press.
25) Break down cultural standards of morality by promoting pornography, and obscenity in books, magazines, motion pictures, radio and TV.
26) Present homosexuality, degeneracy, and promiscuity as "normal, natural, and healthy."
27) Infiltrate the churches and replace revealed religion with "social" religion. Discredit the Bible and emphasize the need for intellectual maturity, which does not need a "religious crutch."
28) Eliminate prayer or any phase of religious expression in the schools on the grounds that it violates the principle of "separation of church and state."
29) Discredit the American Constitution by calling it inadequate, old fashioned, out of step with modern needs, a hindrance to cooperation between nations on a worldwide basis.
30) Discredit the American founding fathers. Present them as selfish aristocrats who had no concern for the "common man".
31) Belittle all forms of American culture and discourage the teaching of American history on the ground that it was only a minor part of "the big picture": Give more emphasis to Russian history since the Communists took over.
32) Support any socialist movement to give centralized control over any part of the culture - - education, social agencies, welfare programs, mental health clinics, etc.
33) Eliminate all laws or procedures, which interfere with the operation of the Communist apparatus.
34) Eliminate the House Committee on Un-American Activities.
35) Discredit and eventually dismantle the FBI.
36) Infiltrate and gain control of more unions.
37) Infiltrate and gain control of big business.
38) Transfer some of the powers of arrest from the police to social agencies. Treat all behavioral problems as psychiatric disorders which no one but psychiatrists can understand or treat.
39) Dominate the psychiatric profession and use mental health laws as a means of gaining coercive control over those who oppose Communist goals.
40) Discredit the family as an institution. Encourage promiscuity and easy divorce.
41) Emphasize the need to raise children away from the negative influence of parents. Attribute prejudices, mental blocks and retarding of children to suppressive influence of parents.
42) Create the impression that violence and insurrection are legitimate aspects of the American tradition; that students and special interest groups should rise up and make a "united force" to solve economic, political, or social problems.
43) Overthrow all colonial governments before native populations are ready for self-government.
44) Internationalize the Panama Canal.
45) Repeal the Connally Reservation so the US can not prevent the World Court from seizing jurisdiction over domestic problems. Give the World Court jurisdiction over domestic problems. Give the World Court jurisdiction over nations and individuals alike.
