I and my brother both earned our Eagle badges. His project is the best I ever saw. In the mid-seventies, my older brother, in Buffalo, NY, adopted a state park on Grand Island, four miles above Niagara Falls. Most of his work was spent picking up trash in the park over a four month period. However, he also monitored the pH level and the turbidity of the Niagara River on a weekly basis during that time. At the conclusion of his project, he turned the results into the Park Service. The rangers did not believe his results, and they replicated his experiments. When their results matched my 14-year-old brother's results, state and federal officials began investigations as to the sources of the river's pollution. My brother's project did not lead to the cleaning of the Niagara River and the Great Lakes, but it did contribute to that end.

Are you referring to the Eagle Scouts?

One of the Eagle Scouts in my area worked with a local construction company to construct a ramp at a home of a local vet. He was not able to get to and from his home- to go for treatments. The Scout found out about it, investigated it and had the ramp constructed.
