A much smaller scale. For hermits, you'll need two water dishes (one for freskwater, one for saltwater), a place for their food, a hiding spot, stuff for them to climb, extra shells, and a deep enough substrate for them to completely bury themselves when the molt. A 10 gallonwould be the minimum size for them, a 20 gallon would be even better.

No you can not. And the reason is. They require a minimum of 10 gallons anything smaller does not have enough room for substrate that's 1 1/2 times as deep as your largest crab is tall, it won't have room for a dechlored fresh and marine salt water bowls, food bowl, hidies, fake plants to climb in and it won't be tall enough to have climbing room. You are better off to run to walmart and spend $10 on a 10 gallon that you fit everything you need for them to survive into it

Invest in lots of room for them, including height. A reptile tank might be a better fit.

Here's the thing, you need lots of places for them to climb and explore without running into each other all the time. They also need a good amount of sand or wood chips to bury themselves most of the way, with lots of room around them (for private moulting). Also a good sized dish of water.

Give them a dish of water about 1.5 times the size of the half the number of crabs.

Give them a place to dig into that's as deep as they are with shells and about 2.5 to 4 times the area for each.

Add extra area to walk around and the height to climb and a separate area for their food, mostly near the water.

How does a 2 1/2 g tank look like a 10g tank? Hermit crabs need plenty of room, so please invest in the 10g tank, at least.

Yes, but you can only put 1 in there. Also, you can't fill it all with water. It needs land as well as water.
