I am that's for sure. These new Congressman need to be brought 'back into the fold.' For how many years, Bush never had to use his veto power. Now he is using it more then ever. Congress is not function like it is supposed to, which is drafting laws and budgets that the President will approve. Many voters have severe cases of remorse right now, and long for the good years of 2002-2006.

I am ashamed of everything he does, from killing Americans in Iraq to his little "dance".

I am, I just wish he had grown some six years ago, the idea is checks and balances, and he has tried too hard to just get along with congress when all they have done is run over him on most things. Look the only reason many voted for the war on terror and the use of force for Iraq is because they want to straddle the fence, make sure the get votes from both sides.

Congress, then and now, need their heads handed to them.

Bush is a nice person, maybe too nice, and look at what it got him. George Soros is the devil and a socialist whack job and he has tried to destroy this person who has nothing more than try to do his job and keep the nation united.

well he didn't use his veto power before because Congress was stacked with Republicans. that isn't a good thing. but you make a good point, the new Congress is coming at him hard and they are playing political games, but the Prez. is guilty of that too. I never liked Bush from day 1 of his presidency, but actually, I am proud he has stood up to these bills the Democrats are coming up with, I don't agree with the timetable idea. Benchmarks maybe, the President seems willing to go there. However he also wants a blank check like he's used to to fund the wars and I think the War Industry has bled the country's funds way too long. Have you seen the deficit lately? It's going to take 4 generations to pay for this war in Iraq and the rest of the world is disgusted with U.S. foreign policy.

Shame on you. Congress and the President are separate branches of government. The Congress and president being at odds is nothing new. It has happened many times before. Bush never had to veto before because the neocon controlled Congress was a rubber stamp Congress giving him what he wanted and had very little oversight. Now there is oversight and the Congress is challanging the president. That is their job.

Proud? You can’t be serious. If Bush keeps this up his approval ratings will hit lows that have never been seen before in history.

The Democratic leadership should just tell him that here is the bill giving you the funding you asked for—take it or leave it because this is the only bill you’re getting. If Bush wants to end the Iraq War by vetoing it then it will be his call.

I SURE AM// Unless the Dem's get off their a**es & actually do something they will be outside & looking in again.Never mind all these hearings that are not going anywhere & all their traviling overseas to bash our goverment ( all except bashing DEMS). They were elected to HELP us not do their own thing. the other day I watched the house on C-span & all the dems were doing was inacting spending bills. The part that got me was ,most of these bills were partnership bills, The private sector payed half & the goverment payed half The Dems wanted the goverment to pay all.I got so sick of what I was watching . I left the room for the day.& they are supose to be looking out for us. HUH??

I'm not happy about the Dems and Reps playing politics back and forth - passing bills they know will be vetoed, vetoeing bills you know will be passed again in an only slightly different form.

I know working together is too much to ask, but a little less obstructionism would be nice.

Bush is just there. Scratching where he sits. Waiting out the term. He's a lame duck. Nothing like a last minute 'veto' to try and bring up those ratings.
too late
No matter what he does, he's a nothing.
