Both are excellent , but I believe NOD32 is slightly better.

I've never personally even heard of Nod32, although that doesn't make it bad.

My experience with Avast! was that it was a very solid anti-virus. It's good at finding viruses and protecting your computer from them. It's free and even runs on the 64-bit version of Windows, which was a plus. On the downside, I thought it was a bit bloated and slowed my computer down and seemed to run scans that I couldn't stop (I could find no menu about auto scans, yet it was scanning alright).

I personally prefer AVG Free, but I guess I don't know what kind of computer this is going on.
