They can have individual attention from a family that really wants a child as opposed to living in an institutionalized setting or being bounced from foster home to foster home. I would encourage anyone who enjoys children and wants to be a parent to adopt, and look for a child that is not the "type" that everyone wants. Maybe you could have the perfect home for an older child or a teen or a baby born addicted to drugs. There are so many children who need loving homes.

We were blessed with the most awesome one-day-old baby! She is now 14 years old, and is the pride and joy of our lives. If people ask if we're going to have more kids, we say, "NO! We stopped at perfection!" She is a little spoiled, but it does not go to her head. She is brilliant, and is reading "The Complete Works of William Shakespeare" right now. It's a huge book with lots of hard-to-understand words, but she loves reading it. I know it's not PC to be bragging about your kids, but when you just have one and you love them so much, then it's kinda hard not to brag. She has made our lives complete, and we are so lucky to have her call us "Mom" and "Dad." I thank God every day for the blessing He gave us.

Some kids with biological parents have good lives, but kids who were adopted by really good people are happy because they know that their parents really wanted them, not just had them.
