I have been on it for 2 years and thought it was okay until a month ago. And i am never getting it again. Here lately I have been getting moody, have been bleeding a little every day on and off, and now I find out my blood sugar is really high. And all these are side effects of the depo shot! And I am always sick and achy (another side effect). And I have gained 35 lbs gradually in the past 2 years I have been on it. And I havent changed my eating habits or exercise less. My doctor told me all these are normal side effects of the depo. So then I go and read horror stories online about the depo and find out all kinds of stuff that has happened to people being on it and getting off it. Like bleeding heavy for months after getting off it and not being able to have kids anymore and being sick all the time. And it can take years to wear off completely. I am almost afraid to get off it!! So anyway what are your stories?

I TOOK 4 SHOTS OF DEPO AFTER MY SON WAS BORN 13 YRS AGO....ON THE DATE OF THE LAST SHOT, I WOKE UP IN THE NIGHT IN A POOL OF MY OWN SWEAT AND MY HEART WAS POUNDING.. I COULDN'T EAT FOR OVER 50 DAYS,,I LIVED ON WATER AND SPRITE. I HAD CHILLS AND TERRIBLE HOT FLASHES AND I ACHED ALL OVER ..IT WAS LIKE THE FLU OR SOMETHING....I ALSO STARTED HAVING ANXIETY ATTACKS THAT I STILL HAVE 13 YRS DOWN THE ROAD...I DIDNT HAVE A PERIOD FROM THE FIRST SHOT TIL 10 YEARS LATER!!!! I THOUGHT THIS DRUG WAS GOING TO KILL ME...I WAS COMPLETELY DISABLED FOR MONTHS AND STILL SUFFER FROM EXTREME ANXIETY TODAY. I WISH I HAD DEMANDED MORE INFO ON THE DEPO BEFORE I TOOK IT!!!!!!! AFTER 25-30 TRIPS TO THE DOCTOR, IT WAS DETERMINED THAT I HAD A HORMONE IMBALANCE,,,,I ALSOO STARTED LOSING MY HAIR!!! GIRLS BEWARE OF WHAT SEEMS TO GOOD TO BE TRUE BECAUSE IT USUALLY IS

i was on it for about a year and a half.

I stopped because I found that it was making me really moody. Even depressed. Also I gained weight. Once I came off it my moods came back to normal. It took about six months before I got a sign of a period, then when I did get one i went onto the pill, so that i could get my body into a cycle again straight away, which helped.

It can take any where from 6 months to two years for it to be completely out of your system.

Bad.

I was on it for four years. I wouldn't recommend it to anyone, at all. I'm surprised its still allowed on the market.

I had weight gain, I was moody as hell, and had other negative side affects.

My last shot, when I received it, I was told that I would need a bone density check after five years since it royally screws up your bone health. After that I decided to check out the reviews.

I went to http://www.rateitall.com/t-330-birth-control-methods.aspx and looked at the depo reviews. I did not, at that time, see ONE positive remark about depo!

I decided at that moment that I want off of it as soon as possible. I talked to my fiance and then had an appointment with my doctor and she put me on Kariva.

On Kariva, my weight is nice and steady, I have no mood swings or other negative side affects.
