Not caring about it is ALWAYS an act.....our whole lives revolve around looking good (not necessarily in the physical sense) any comment has us examining who we are or what we're doing....some of us will translate that into "how can I get you to like me" or "what's wrong with me that they don't like me" or by even subconsciously believing everyone else is wrong so we don't have to think about people not liking us.
Some people have developed skills to deal with this and others haven't so much....

It only matter if it is someone I care about. Thus I care about their opinion. I may not act according to their beliefs or opinions but it does matter. Otherwise, general public wise? Who cares! Life is too short! There are way too many other fun things to do with the time we have been given!

depends upon who is doing the quacking. If it is someone I respect, then yes I care. If it isn't, nope. Don't care one little teensy weensy bit.
