Wow. Harder question than I realized when I clicked on it.
I have recently moved into a new apartment, and fairly recently into a new city (St. Louis, Missouri). So an important part of my focus in life right now is orienting myself in those mundane matters as where do I go to get a new state ID card, and how do I get my voice-mail messages.
But a more fundamental focus is redefining myself. The love of my life for over 20 years committed suicide a year ago last December, and he was the focus of my attention for so long, and guided my every step, that I'm still involved in learning how to think for myself and make decisions for myself, and even hang up a paper towel holder myself. I'm finding it necessary (because it was suicide and not some other sort of death) to question almost everything I learned from him, and even though I've had well over a year already, the process is by no means complete.
But then I wonder if it ever will be.
