Even if they had to run an extra line to your house (which doesn't make sense, because the availability DSL is based on the distance from your house to the central office, where they house the equipment they use to convert the signal), you shouldn't have to pay a high monthly fee for access. Most people pay somewhere between $30/month and $60/month, depending on the bandwidth they require (in Mbps).
Have you tried your cable company or satellite TV company?

I pay $25 a month on an annual basis. I have microcell broadband. It is a microwave system using repeaters. 1500k downloads and 384k uploads. I'm surprised you can get DSL since it usually requires that you live near the central office. I can't get DSL where I live. What I have is cheaper and much faster than some DSL services.

WOW! That's a lot! We live in a Condo and the whole condo is covered by cable so we get a really good deal. Less than $30 a month. I know other people pay a lot more than we do. But $80 is a lot.

65 at comcast for cable internet. They charge for the modem too (which could be bought in the store). This is with the discount for being a cable subscriber. They bite and keep inflating the rates.

An iPod touch comes with loose wifi internet. you are able to in basic terms use the internet once you have a router nearby and a time-honored passcode. some apps in the App save are loose, mutually as some are paid. the optimum high quality apps are the paid ones, usually. there is not any month-to-month cost for an iPod touch.

I get my internet for free. I live in a basement suite in a house, and the entire house is wired and routed for internet access. I also get cable included in the deal too.
