Cons claim there haven't been any terrorists attacks in the US since 9/11 to make the public feel they are "protecting us" and to make themselves feel safer. Some of them believe their own propaganda. With the usual cast of idiots that Bush chooses, the "Homeland Security" department is actually the department of "Homeless Insecurity".

It's vital that those 'reminders' keep creeping up so that we American citizens can come to believe that we're safe. It's important for the administration to create the illusion that its 'crack' Department of Homeland Security (a Nazi-style boondoggle that has wasted billions of taxpayer dollars) is doing a 'swell' job.
The fact is there has been no 'terrorist attack' because the 'terrorists' don't really exist, and - if they do - they wouldn't 'attack' again until the timing and circumstances were right. The next 'terrorist' attack will be in the Midwest (most likely Chicago or St. Louis) because there needs to be more fear instilled in those of us who live in America's heartland. So, whether it's an actual 'attack' by for-real 'terrorists' from some middle-east nation - or just another 'attack' staged to make the Bush administration look like it's competent - it will also target something besides airports or skyscrapers (more than likely a large military contractor's manufacturing facility, an oil refinery complex, or a sports stadium while tens of thousands are rooting for their home team). The 'terrorists' will 'attack' only when it's for their benefit. George W. Bush and Dick Cheney, on the other hand, might be inclined to blow something up just to enhance their performance ratings in the polls. Don't reject the possibility that the World Trade Center explosions were part of the Bush plan to build support for invading Iraq. Our government lies to us. -RKO- 05/10/07

Because there hasn't been one. If you want to count the anthrax attack and the D.C.sniper, then you'd have to count every murder or assault in the last 6 years.

The facts are that there has not been an attack by any of the know terrorist organizations since 9/11. You may try to spin it to get the answer you want, but so far our intelligence and the Patriot Act are working.

Mark is an idiot. The African embassy bombings were before 9/11.

You are correct. And the washington sniper would qualify in my eyes too

The African Embassies bombings would qualify since an embassy is considered US soil

Since we don't know who perpetrated this act, we don't know if it was "an act of terror."
