The oldest Hawaiian islands are the smallest ones on the end of the chain; the big ones which still have volcanoes would be the youngest.

The Hawaiian Islands are in the middle of the northern half of the Pacific Plate. They stretch from the newest island, Hawaii, northwest to Kure Atoll.
