considering the homeless commit less than .05% of the crime in this country,i dont see what good it does to target them

Annie White apparently didn't even read the source she cited because it completely falsifies her comments. It's a shame how people distort facts to suit their own agenda.
Myth: They're to blame for being homeless.
Fact: Most homeless people are victims. Some have suffered from child abuse or violence. Nearly one quarter are children. Many have lost their jobs.
Myth: They are dangerous and they break the law.
Fact: In general, the homeless are among the least threatening group in our society and are more likely to be victims of crime. Although they are more likely to commit non-violent and non-destructive crimes, they are less likely to commit crimes against person or property.

Having visited both San Francisco (perhaps the single town that is nicest to the homeless) and Guiliani's New York, I'd have to say yes.

there is NO excuse to be homeless here in America. The majority of the people who are Homeless have mental disorders & are drug addicts. They need to be in a home getting help. They need to be taken off the street...
There is NO excuse, Why should I work hard for my money, and all they have to do is ask, beg on the corner and get it and don't have to pay taxes. Just to buy drugs and beer.
