Republicans, I think, are beginning to see the light and recognize that their continued support of the Bush administration's terrorism won't get them re-elected.
We have spent $1.27 TRILLION on this insipid Iraqi 'war' (as of last August!); that's a MILLION DOLLARS A DAY for the next 3,487 years!
Imagine if we'd spent just a fraction of that on things like the environment, education, feeding the hungry, sheltering the homeless, or providing health care for the indigent!!
George W. Bush has put American taxpayers in debt for generations to come, all because his family had a personal vendetta against Saddam Hussein and because his wealthy friends want all that OIL swimming underneath Iraq's sands. That's not only appalling - that's obscenely immoral! -RKO- 05/10/07

I'm going to tell you something that you don't want to hear. I hear very few people saying what I'm going to tell you and I'm shocked that more people don't say what I'm going to say. Perhaps people just don't want to face the truth. So, what is the truth? The honest truth here is that the US and Bush, are in a no win situation. People are so blinded for their dislike for Bush, that they can't see the forest because the trees are in the way.
If Bush did nothing and brought the troops back home from Iraq and Afghanistan, it would make our enemies even bolder and their attacks on the infidels (non-Islam) would just increase. We'd have attacks all accross the US at malls, at sporting events and in crowded areas because as much as many people don't want to admit, the Islamic terrorist hate our way of life. We can't ignore them and just hope they go away. Clinton ignored them in the past and we got 9-11 because of that attitude..
But, if America takes the offensive, if we go after them and bring the war to the Middle East. At least we keep them on the defensive. As much as it hurts people who dislike Bush to admit, the reality is that we have not been attacked on US soil since 9-11. But, as Bush keep up the pressure on our enemies, our own people keep the pressure on Bush calling him a war monger.
So, if Bush attacks the radical Islamics he's call a bad person, and if Bush did nothing and we get attacked, he's hated even more!
I'm not a Bush supporter or a Bush apologist, I'm a realist and if you look at the situation realistically, you can see that Bush cannot win, either way many of the American people hate Bush. But, worse than that, while we're hating Bush, the Islamic terrorist are just smiling and counting the days until another 9-11. I think that's the reality that Americans won't face.

I think it's because no one in politics ever wants to admit when they're wrong. The decision to go to war in the first place was ill-advised, but no one wanted to be the first to say so. The Democrats were out numbered so even when they tried to exercise some oversight, they were being thwarted by their Republican colleagues and letting gross mismanagement of the country happen.
It is going to take a lot of time and money to get us out of this mess.

The Democrats would cut funding for the troops to allocate more pork money to buy votes for the 2008 election.

If you followed the news you'd note moderate Republicans are getting nervous and even Bush has now stated he is ready for a time table.

Party loyalty. Forelorn hope. Desperation. Bribes, perhaps.
And, of course, the alternative: the Democrat's agenda.

His Republican support is slowly crumbling before the eyes of the nation as the war drags on. Change is on the horizon and there is no turning back the clock. Tick tock, tick tock, tick tock, tick tock...............................
