A friend told me about it and when I saw it I was amazed. It may have been one of the best movies I had ever seen.

...the words 'Inspiring', 'mesmerizing', 'beautiful' and 'astounding' cannot even begin to describe this wonderful and highly moving cinematic work of art, from director Ron Fricke; after viewing this masterpiece, I felt like I had been viewing the world with blinders on, and all of a sudden they were blown right off!!! A most varied and flavorful feast for the eyes!!!
...if you like this film, you should try the director Godfrey Reggio's "Qatsi" trilogy, which includes 1983's "Koyaanisqatsi" ("Life Out of Balance"), 1988's "Powaqqatsi" ("Life in Transformation"), and 2002's "Naqoyqatsi" ("Life in War"); all three are as visually stunning and poignant as "Baraka", if not more so.
