Since 5 is prime, it can only be written as: 1x5.
6 can be written as: (1)(6), (-1)(-6), (2)(3), (-2)(-3).
Just looking you might notice that 5*3 - 1*2 = 13. This give the factorization

(5x - 2)(x + 3) = 0

Because there are no zero divisors, a*b = 0 implies a = 0 or b = 0.

5x - 2 = 0
5x = 2
x = 2/5

x +3 = 0
x = -3

Thus, by factoring we find that the two roots are 2/5 and -3.

(5x-2)(x+3)

use FOIL to check

Firsts: 5x^2
Insiders: -2x Outsiders: 15x
lasts: -6

add the insides and outsides to get 13x

now put it in the FOIL order

5x^2+13x-6=0 is correct now that you know that is correct you have to set each set of parentases equal to zero

5x-2=0

5x=2

x=2/5

and the other one

x+3=0

x= -3

so your answers are
x= 2/5,-3
