No one should get a free pass for hormonal or psychological reasons. Criminal justice has very little to do with justice and a great deal to do with getting violent people off the streets so that they can no longer harm another. If hormonal treatments and/or psychological treatments can help them become less violent and better citizens AFTER they are off the streets, that's great. But first get them off the streets. You are right, of course, to criticize the well-documented "female discount" in criminal charges, in convictions, and in sentencing. But the way forward is to end the discount, not give everyone a get-out-of-jail-free card. As for some of the nonsense written above concerning "brain changes", it is nearly 50 year old science that has demonstrated that BOTH male and female hormones affect brain development and function. This is nothing new. So what? Are we to start letting out every dangerous soul as soon as we have the technology to demonstrate that their brains are different somehow? If we could demonstrate with technology that EVERY criminal had measurable brain differences from the rest of us, should we let them all out? This is NONSENSE. Why? Because, the truth is that the criminal justice system has very little to do with justice. There is no justice for the child that has been raped, no matter what you do to the criminal. There is no justice for the man or woman that has been murdered, no matter what you do to the criminal. The best that you can do, EVER, is to get these violent souls off the streets so that they can no longer harm law-abiding citizens. And it starts with ENDING THE FEMALE DISCOUNT.

Yes it should be allowed as a defense. Would you want to be the one to tell a woman with PMS that they aren't going to allow that to be used? It could turn into mass murder very quickly.

Imagine severe PMS on a Full Moon... I'll use that as my defense gladly.

PMS does make women do things they wouldn't normally do, so even in psychological terms it could be used as a defence.

I think it should be used as a defense - it's a real thing and a lot of people go psycho when having PMS.

Not unless a man can use an 18-pack as a defense for the same crime.

I don't think any women should ever use PMS as an excuse unless its cause they can't go swimming, seriously that is so annyoing. I go through it to and you don't see me killing people or talking trash. But thats just my opinion, I'll never understand it either.

I'll stand alone and say yes. I've seen them get crazy. It's a perfectly logical defense.

Yes she should. It's a given that it happens once a month, so everyone has been warned ahead of time to stay the hell away! LOL
