This is my generation you're talking about, and I fully agree! I mean, you can't really deny it, half the girls out there are showing way too much skin. The make up thing I can live with. I've always had the opinion that less is more, but I don't really care that the rest of the world disagrees. It's mostly just the immodesty that bothers me. The only thing I can come up with is that there parents are so disillusioned that they think allowing that is okay. Either that or that they don't have enough of a handle on their kids to tell them that they can't buy/wear indecent clothing.

I don't know, I'm 36 now but when I was growing up I wasn't allowed to show any cleavage and I could only wear mascara & blush, no lip stick or eyeliner. Oh my goodness swimsuit shopping was a nightmare cause I wasn't allowed to wear even a one piece that went up high on the hips, which is hard to find one that doesn't. I never would have been allowed to show my butt crack! LOL!!! I don't know what their thinking!!!
I also wasn't allowed to color my hair either. Everything was when your 18 and as long as your living under this roof!!!

I run music events and concerts for young people (under 18) and am horrified by what some young people, esp girls wear!!
No I do not need to see your underwear, or really that much of your under-developed cleavage!!
I think that there are a growing number of parents who want their kids to think that they are cool, and so they act like their best friend instead of a parent!

Unless I wear a sweater everyday, there is going to be clevage. If I wear any other shirt or tank top, you can clearly see I have breasts.
Even my regluar t-shirts show clevage. that's not really my fault though.
But those little skanks who wear skirts, that are hardly even skirts, I mean it's like fricking loincloth! and are wearing pretty much a tube top with no fricking bra!
I think they are advertising that "you will never have this, unless if you buy me expensive stuff, I am all yours"
These are also girls who do not own a pair of sweat pants, or a baggy shirt

Its all about popularity these days and it really hasnt changed much since i was that age. I used to be like that and it was to attract all the attention from men because it gives them a buzz and they feel wanted. What they fail to realise (that i realised after a while) is that those men are not going to give them love and attention, they want to get it away and run away!!!! i learned that dressing like that gets you no where.
I had my drink spiked one night when i was dressed like you said and was raped, i will never totally get over that. If any one out there has a daughter that wants some sense talked into them from a very sorry 19yr old that has been there done that and got the degrading memories to prove it then please dont hesitate to email me

My parents wouldn't let me out of the house in a mini skirt in the 80's. I would not have my child walk out the house looking like a slut. My niece lets her daughter where low tops and skirts and shorts that just cover her behind and the girl is 12 - I think that is way inappropriate.

I agree with you. I'm a teen and my parents haven't restricted me at all but I don't like dressing like a slut. If you are going to wear a mini skirt, cover your cleavage. You want to wear crop tops, wear some pants with it.

The fact that kids are doing their own thing in regard to clothing makeup etc is a sign of our present time its a showing that its a free country and they are free in it it is parents saying see our kids are allowed to be their own person and maybe at times it is not good but parents are to be made aware of this too .~~

It gets worse every few years or so. I thought the same thing after I graduated in 1988. It's awful now;. Girls, do you realize that you look like a ho, you will be treated like one? This is not some smartassed remark. Look at how many guys on here treat women like pigs. they are responsible for their actions, but you 15 year old streetwalker lookalikes can't encourage it by your cclothing either!

Maybe their parents arent around because they work all the time or they figure that hey that's the way the world is now or they think their daughter is old enough to make her own decision or they just have given up on their child
