Hey everybody, im planning a beach trip for July 28th-Aug 7th at Myrtle Beach with a couple of friends and my girlfriend. I got the hotel reservation bill back and it's going to be $534 my friend will be staying in my room the last 3 nights and said he would pay half for those last 3 nights. So i believe that bumps it down to around $440. anyways, right now i have somewhere around 400 dollars saved up, but im SO worried that i wont have enough 1. Because im worried i might not get enough hours at work, and 2. im addicted to swiping that debit card! i cant stop no matter how much i try. I've thought about leaving the cards home but then what would i do for gas? or any other emergency spending?
Are there any ways i can get some extra money for the trip that wont cost me anything and wont scam me out of even more money?
I tried applying for a credit card but was denied because i dont have any credit yet.

By the way this trip is very important as it will be where I will propose to my girlfriend of 2 years. and i already have the ring so that isnt a problem.

ok, my job pays fine i just need extra back up ways. trying to get hired for a job within 2 months isn't what i need. not to mention the fact that by getting another job they would DEFINITELY not let me off for 10 days right when i start. getting a second job would just make it harder, because they would probably want me to work the week i'd be leaving to goto the beach.

Put the $400 in another account, you can get vacation accounts at some banks and credit unions, you won't be able to touch the money until its time for your vacation, and you can always add onto your account.

A second job is exactly what you need. Get one at a convenience store or pizza delivery joint. Who cares if they want you to work the week you'll be gone -- you'll probably just want to quit by then anyway, and you'll have gotten the extra buckage to make the trip!

If proposing to your girlfriend isnt important enough for you to stop spending to save up then you shouldnt be proposing. I had that same issue but once I bought the ring I stopped spending, I started cooking and I started riding my bike to work and school (No more gas!)

Girl, its just a trip. How important is the trip to you. Just take what you need to pay it off then pay it off then....you need control in life. You also need to prioritize!!!

u seem like a shopper....take the stuff you don't use anymore and have a yard sale.....great way to make money....remember one mans junk is another mans treasure.....good luck
