I see so much hate in the questions asked on this board. Is their a lot of hate in your reality and if so (or not) what contributes to that hate or lack of hate?

Hate is only ignorance with a microphone. Y/A is a microphone and the degree of ignorance out there is alarming.

Yes, there is a lot of hate out there. This is not the 1950's with "Father Knows Best" or Donna Reed. Life is a lot more complex, and it's almost impossible to raise a family. In fact, most kids are supremely lucky if they have two loving parents [of the opposite sex]. But, I'd rather see people vent out the poison here than on the road or worse, on some high-school or college campus.

Sometimes we look at the world thru rose colored glasses or choose 2 ignore what we think don't pertain 2 us. There is a vast amount of hate everywhere... even around you on a daily bases rather you see/feel it or not its there.
When I say haters i mean of all kinds...
People can hate you because of jealousy
People can hate you because of age
People can hate you cause you are happy and they are not
Racism hate (color of your skin, which no one can control what color they are born)
Sexist hate (because you are female or male)
Haters of homosexuals
Haters of religion
Haters because of your beliefs/ values
The hateful people you see on Y/A are REAL, and live next door 2 you, down the street, go 2 school with your kids, you grocery shop with them, you attend PTA meetings with them,
they are everywhere including some in your own family. (no disrespect 2 your family) But this is the reality of it.
In your face....if truth be told.
You only have 2 look 2 see it, it's there.
I guarantee you someone who smiles in your face everyday at work totally and completely dislike/hate you but will never tell you face 2 face.

I have no hate in my heart at all, I do know it is very hard to overcome hate, because it is a natural reaction that comes from people insecurities. Very few people can overcome their insecurities, so they use things like hate which leads to racism, as a remedy!

But its only temporary. Carrying all that around is such a burden. Only God can give you freedom from all of that!

Freedom is forever!

I think part of what happens in a space like this is that people can be anonymous. If you had to use your real name instead of a hide-behind name, people might think very differently about what they say.

Some legislators are proposing that, by the way - that no screen names be allowed.

I do see hatred on a daily basis, in people's behavior, speech and the things the media reports everyday.
I also see a lot of compassion and generosity, although this is seldom reported by the media in the same way.

I don't think so. Those racists (I really think they are teens) are just looking for attention. I really don't think that they are trying to educate about the evils of black people. Cindy K was sooo racist on this site!! She said all kinds of things! Now she's going around saying she looves black people and that racists are just looking for attention. I WAS SHOCKED! It shows that she was just desperate for attention. Or maybe my telling her off changed her bigoted ways?

Those racists obviously don't like black people. But there aren't too many places where you can go and say "dem n*ggers are dumb", except Hicksville I guess. They like to point out things about blacks on this site.

Unfortunately, everytime I am on Answers I have to see it. And I witness it on the streets occasionally but I am guiltless when it comes to hatred now a days and I can not do anything about them.

Here's the scary part. These people are actually a part of society! Think about that for a second. That's really scary!
