Thats not right to say that, you can't base a whole group of people off of some selfish disrespectful people, and I've see japanese men be very nice to people and me. Maybe its the way those certain men where raised or maybe because they have money they think they can do whatever they want. I know a lot of men and WOMEN like that.

wow! i'm not surprised! the answer is actually they do respect women and children. but those men must come from Tokyo mainly. If you've ever been to Tokyo you'll know why they do it. Trains are REALLY packed every day and order to get in they have to push in no matter what. EVERYONE does that. i was so surprised when i went there for the first time, this kind of action only happen when getting on trains, elevators, etc. but no, generally it does not mean they do not respect women and children.

That's their culture! I lived in a large Japanese city for a year and rarely saw an American. I was startled to find that I could not adhere to my mother's demand that I wait my turn!! There were always far more people waiting for a bus than the number of seats available! One HAD to push, shove and claw our way aboard--or it left without us! Otherwise, I'd NEVER have been able to get a seat on the bus to get home!! I realized that the country is so over-crowded, that it's impossible to be polite to everyone--at least that's the way it was back in the middle '50s'. Politeness is only for those they knew, for the Japanese did NOT que up as the Americans and British do. Often, you'd see people scrambling to get aboard, suddenly recognize someone and then the two went through elaborate bowing rituals! EVEN tho' the bus left without them! Americans enjoy public transportation that is adequate for the population!

First, I'd advise correcting your question into proper grammar. Secondly, it's not ALL of the men...typically they are very nice generous people...more or less it may just be the ones you are around at the time.

As much as I admire the Japanese culture, they are some of the biggest racists on the planet. Their culture is one of male domination, etc. Far to big of an issue for this forum.
To the above answers: How much do you really know?
The Japanese have a public face and a private face...
How damn clueless can you people be?
