Hey everyone!
I need help with my math homework/math vocabulary. So here are the questions. Also please use explanations (it will help me for my test on monday)

1. What is a closed figure formed by joining segments at vertices?

2. A (??) is formed by two rays starting from the same endpoint?

3. If two lines intersect so that the angles they form are all congruent (90 degrees) the lines are (??)

4.A (??) is a segment joining two nonconsecutive vertices of a polygon.

5. Two angles whose sum add up to 180* are called (??) angles.

6.Angles that share a common vertex and common side are called (??)

7.A quadrilateral that has its opposite sides parallel and congruent is a (??)

ok these are the questions (srry it was really long but I need a lot of help so i dont fail math!) Remember Explanations will be helpful and thank you soooo much!

1. A polygon. (Straight lines (segments) joined at corners (vertices), and joined up so there are no ends sticking out(closed).)

2. Rays are half-lines; they have one end point and extend indefinitely in a certain direction. If two share the same end point they form an angle.

3. Lines at 90° to each other are perpendicular.

4. A line segment cutting the interior of a polygon (or other plane figure, e.g. a circle) is a chord. One that specifically joins two vertices of a polygon is a diagonal. (If it cuts the interior, the vertices can't be adjacent; otherwise it is just one of the boundary line segments.)

5. Supplementary - no explanation here, that's the definition of the word. You also need to know that angles that add to 90° are called complementary.

6. Adjacent. (Again this is simply the definition.)

7. Rhombus. If they are parallel but not necessarily congruent then it is a parallelogram.

I think what you need to do is to try and draw each of the things asked for and SEE FOR YOURSELF what you get. THEN if you have trouble look at the answers below but not until you try it yourself

I left lot of room so you are less tempted to look at answers before you try them

1. polygon - which one depends on how many segments

2. angle

3. ninety degree linsa are called perpendicular

4.diagonal

5. supplementary

6. adjacent

7. parallelogram
