...the steering wheel?

Oh, those nose picking when they are stuck in traffic! Don't they realize that their windows are see through?! Are they in their own little worlds when they are in their cars? What is your opinion?

It is a closed world where the driver has complete control of his/her environment. It simply does not matter to them if they can be seen or not - what has their behaviour got to do with anyone else, they would argue.
The nose picker is matched by the female putting on her make-up, or brushing her hair.
I truly believe they do not care what anyone outside thinks - even the Police. The number of phone users has not diminished despite the increased penalties.
It is more than manners that many drivers lose. As a Central London commuting motorcyclist for almost 20 years, I was harrassed by cars that resented my ability to pass them, safely, when the were stuck in stationary traffic. They would steer into my path, if given one foot of movement or even - once - deliberately open the door to prevent my passing. Fortunately a motorbike cop saw that and intervened before I could fulfil my instinct to kick the guy's door in.

There are very few places where any of us is in complete control; the car is one of those few - hence the unmannerly, selfish and witless behaviour of some drivers.

they must feel like it's their second home since a lot of people spend so much time in it. They eat in it, sleep in it, have sex in it, make phone calls from it, etc. so why not pick your nose in it? your telling me you don't pick your nose in your own house? so if the neighbor is peering into your window while your doing it who has the bad manners? obviously people if they are aware someone is looking at them wouldn't go and pick their nose and those that do have no manners. One thing that concerns me more is road rage people behind the wheel get a false sense of power being behind a big powerful machine that if they passed you on the sidewalk wouldn't likely tail gate you. But behind the wheel they are dangerous.

i think people just see the vehicles when they are driving and sometimes forget real people are driving them, imagine having the same attitude walking down a high street it just wouldn't happen yet get behind a wheel and rules change for people

Because, turning on the ignition not only starts the car but disengages the brain.
