well I am allergic to at least 80% of "Medicine"

however, I have many medical issues that must be dealt with. Even "normal, traditional doctors" are forced to look outside of the box when dealing with me.. I scare doctors

Don't believe people that tell you about placebos... that works in a small percantage of patients (read the research) and only for certain types of medical issues

Things that really do work:
Power of your mind (that includes but is not limited to progressive relaxation/meditation)
Certain medications (that also means homeopathic medicines)... if the right treatment is given to correct the problem
Certain activities (if you have lower back pain, one of the worst things you can do is sit on a hard surface for a long period of time.. but stretching out like done in yoga is great to aleviate lower back pain)

Bear in mind that just because something is homeopathic doesn't mean it can't kill you.... ask the ER if they have ever seen a Niacin overdose.... or an allergic reaction to Chamomile.... there is something (I don't remember what thing) that will shoot your bloodpressure thru the roof.. so if you have high blood pressure... then that could kill you

It is a matter of what works for you... read, read, read & that is true no matter what course of treatment you take (traditional or alternative)

Ask folks who have had similar health issues & talk to your local healthfood store or alternative medicine provider as well as your regular doctor

The first time I tried homeopathy, I was deeply sceptical. The treatment was for my dog and I'd tried everything else. She didn't believe in the treatment any more than I did - it was just a last ditch thing. She got better.

There are some very good trials which show positive results of homeopathy on an objective as well as subjective basis. Look at www.homeopathy-soh.org and search for 'Glasgow homeopathic hospital' and 'David Reilly' to find some of the research articles.

It is hard to understand HOW homeopathy works, but the mechanism may have something to do with the strange properties of water.

Yes they do. Some might say that its just a placebo effect and stuff like that, but I don't think that it is. Its still a great big debate as to whether it does work or not. There are those people that says it does work, and there are those people that says it doesn't work because it doesn't comply with any scientific laws. But in my opinion it does. I was diagnosed with very severe epilepsy at 7 years old, the doctors told my mum that I wouldn't live past the age of 10 years old because I was so bad that I was kept under sedation in hospital, and they did millions of tests on me to find out the source of the problem but they found nothing. Later they told my mum that they wanted to do brain surgery on me, and she objected. She then found this homeopathic doctor and she took me to see her, and my mum got the medicine, and immediately gave it to me, a few days later my epilepsy slowed down, and at 15 it completely stopped. I'm now 26.

It is saddening that even in this age and time; questions like these are being asked! No offense meant but it does go on to show what role the media is playing in promoting the allopathic (Rx) medicines.

Half my age (I'm 42) has been spent treating people homeopathically; more often than not providing the remedies out of my own pocket and on the other hand is FDA; who even wants to take away the right of self-medication from us.
Please wake-up to the need of the hour! Rise and shine! Testing is believing; don't take my words for it .. who am I but an IT professional but one whose second love in life is homeopathy ..

So be prepared .. soon you'll be an avid homeopath .. CHEERS!!!

The human mind and body work in mysterious ways. It is a proven fact that sometimes when a placebo is given and the person thinks it is a medicine for whatever ails them that the body gets cured. It is also true that sometimes if people believe in spiritual healers that spiritual healers cause them to get well.
Science has found that many of the old time home remedies seem to cure people also.

When I first began my research of homeopathy, I thought it was just a placebo effect.

But I also thought that was ok, because if a non-toxic pill makes you well, then who cares?

Then I read clinical research showing that homeopathic medicine has been used effectively on coma patients, infants and animals.

That's pretty impressive.

They really do work. The most important thing when trying a non-traditional medicine is you must believe that it will work. I really don't like to use "modern medicine". If I can, I use herbs, meditation, prayer and crystals and I am in better health than I was when I used chemical medications.
