It stops ineligible people from voting for them. Then if they lose, they reverse and scream it's an invalid election because ineligible voters voted. It's a knife that cuts both ways for them.

What's wrong with providing a photo ID? If you don't already have a driver's license or photo ID by the age of 18, then something is seriously wrong. Most normal people usually have one by the age of 16. I really don't see what the big deal is to reach in your pocket or purse and pull out your ID. Kinda the same thing as buying alcohol or tobacco, or going to a strip club or bar. But I'm sure Liberals are against showing ID for that stuff as well.

Photo IDs cost money. Even if it's only $20, that doesn't sound like much to you and me, but to somebody living below the poverty line, it's enormous. It amounts to poll taxes, which we got rid of years ago.

For example, take an elderly person living alone, with no family nearby and no transportation. Maybe, due to medical conditions or poor eyesight, they no longer have a driver's license. They may still be able to walk down the street to vote, but you're putting a huge burden on them to get themselves to a government office to buy a photo ID.

It's simply a way to limit the number of poorer people who vote. In a democracy, we need to encourage voting, not impede it.

Liberals don't have self assurance the balloting technique could have pointless hindrances. the place's the info that voter fraud is sufficient of a difficulty to justify requiring image id's on the balloting sales area? i've got self assurance this would nicely be a synthetic problem by ability of conservatives with a view to justify obstacles on liberal balloting blocks. undesirable human beings, who likely vote liberal, are additionally likely to not pony up $20 for a state id just to vote.

Like was said below....

would certainly keep the dead vote from being counted....and the illegals....and anyone else who is not supposed to vote...might even keep 400 votes being counted which come from the same address....

as happened in King County, WA...

I would love to see ID's needed before you could cast a vote...I would also like to see the ballots in our national language, only, as well....If you don't care about the country enough to learn the language....you don't deserve the right to vote in the elections.....

A better question...
Why don't we issue a standard test that any 5th grader could pass to verify that voters have a working knowledge of what is actually going on in politics. Some people, much like those who can't produce an I.D, don't deserve to vote. But then again, that makes me a bigot for wanting informed voters, doesn't it?

I say this in all honesty - a sizable portion of the Democrat Party's voter base is poor and uneducated. If you put any obstacle in the way of these individuals voting, it's likely they just won't show up.

I also sympathize with the argument of universal suffrage, but I agree that there should be a more concrete way of determining voter eligibility.

Don't ever try to find any logic or sense in anything liberals do or say. They live in an unreal world not realizing how very scary and dangdrous their philosophy is.

They know that photo ID would make it more difficult for them to engage in fraud.

There can only be two reasons:

#1, they think their constituents are too stupid to obtain one.
Not likely though because like you say, they prove they are capable by jumping through fire hoops to get unemployment and welfare.

or

#2, that it would ruin their well established practice of voter fraud.
