I saw this question in a baby book. Don't know if I am pregnant, yet just looking at names and waiting patiently. What is your opinion of this name?

I actually knew someone with this name a long time ago and thought that it was a great name. It's an unusual name but it really fit her so didn't seem strange at all.

I love the name Bronwyn! I think it sounds very classy, and it is unusual, but able to be pronounced, b/c it is not so unusual that nobody has ever heard of it. I'm curious as to what middle name you would put with it. Good luck!

I'm Welsh and Bronwyn is a Welsh name meaning 'White Breast'
So that is a very strong mystical celtic name with a beautiful meaning - I personally think it's beautiful

Other Welsh names are Sian (pronounced Sharn)
Cariad (pronounced car re yard (meaning LOVE)

Like it a lot--that's my roommate's name. It's actually her middle name but she likes it so much that she goes by it. Some girls get teased about the "white breasted" meaning, but it's more of a metaphor for purity of the heart and soul. Very lovely.

I also knew a Bronwyn Bjorkman (Bee-ork-man)--she was norweigan :-) I liked it on her, too.

edit: I have never heard of it used for a male.

I like that name. We have a Bronwyn at our work and she is lovely. I don't think it's that common either, which is nice. She always complains though that everyone thinks her name is Robyn or forgets and calls her Brenda.

Why would you want to name a sweet little baby Bronwyn ( white breast). Can you imagine the teasing this poor child would receive ( especially if it's a boy! )

You have 9 mos to decide ... I suggest you keep looking.

I think that it is really cute. I can see it as a baby's name, teenager's name, and adult. That's great!
