Benchmarks must have a competion date or they are no good. Bush has always been against benchmarks AND timetables. Of course, he could NEVER meet them because he always fails.

Is he FLIP-FLOPPING or not?

Republicans are finally turning on him. Fiscal conservatives have long been planning the day for the removal of Neocons.

This is another Bush flip-flop. The levees have been breached and the walls are crumbling.

A benchmark is different from a timetable. Benchmarks are goals. Timetables are definite cut off dates. If the Dems had only tried to set goals rather than run the war from Washington by legislating absolutes, we would all be better.

For the 1 millionth time, benchmarks and deadlines are two totally different things. Look up the definitions, you might learn something. Bush has been open for compromise on benchmarks for the past year or so, but he is not open for compromise on deadlines. Learning anything yet? God I hope so.

"Is he flip-flopping again?"

Asking that question of a politician is like asking if the sun still rises in the east. Congratulation - I'm adding you to my short list for genius "question" of the week!
