Nope, she's your mom so if it's in her house, then she can do whatever she wants with it.

I don't believe that it is illegal. However, depending on your age, you DO have a right to make medical decisions regarding your body. Check with your Dr.
Also, don't be afraid to approach mom-write a letter if you have a hard time expressing yourself verbally. Explain to her why you are on bc. Maybe you are having a hard time with your cycles and you need to regulate it. Maybe you are thinking of or have become sexually active and you feel that you should at least protect yourself against a pregnancy. It could well be that her reaction was one of shock at having made such a discovery about her little girl.

I would suggest this. If you are having sex, and I am assuming you are quite young if your mother took your bc pills away, it is better to possibly lie and not bring a baby into this world, than to do just that.
Tell your doctor that the real reason you wanted them was to regulate your periods. Tell him./her that your mother threw your pills out and if he could write you a note saying that is why you have them, that would help. Maybe your mother would let you keep them then?
When you get older, and she can get used to the idea of her little girl having sex, then she will atleast be proud of you for being smart about it.
Many parents believe their daughters having the pill is giving them permission to have sex. They don`t realise that you will have sex regardless, many times not with the wanted result.
P.S. I`m proud of you for doing the right thing and going on the pill if you are having, or planning on having sex. Many young people don`t, just from the fear of their parents finding out.

No it's not illegal but parents should realize that takin birth control away can do more harm than good. Kids don't stop having sex just cuz they don't have birth control they just produce more kids..duh

No it's not illegal for your mom to take it away, but you should talk to her and explain that at least you are being safe not to get pregnant, but hopefully you are using condems as well, if so explain that to her as well and that the birth control is for extra protection in case it breaks. She is probably just freaked that her kid is having sex.

Sorry...it's not illegal....just go and get some more...I used to get it and put it in an asprin bottle, I know I am wrong for telling you to hide it but it's better to be on some type of birth control if having sex than none at all......

That's a tough one. I know it's not legal for your doctor to tell her about birth control, nor is it legal for your health insurance to tell her about them, but I'm assuming you're a minor, in which case she does have the right to decide on your treatment. Talk to your doctor or pharmacist. (s)he'll know. If it does, in fact, turn out to be legal, hide 'em, or talk to her about them.
Explain your reasons for wanting them. Explain that you like to be able to regulate your periods, explain that you want them to regulate cramps or other symptoms of PMS, explain that you want control over your own body, which is your right, and explain that you want to be treated as a responsible adult. You want to make responsible choices.
Talk to her rationally, don't get in a fight, that'd be counter productive. If she won't listen to you, get some literature from your doctor or a Planned Parenthood clinic.
If she still won't listen, hide them. Only use deception as a last resort, however. If you want her to treat your adultness respectfully and to understand your needs as a young adult, you need to act like one, and that means using reasoning instead of deception.
Good luck, and way to make the responsible decision!

You're mom is taking it away because she's being ignorant, she shouldn't, it's you're privacy, plus you're taking care of your reproduction, she should be glad you're on it, My mom knew I took birth control @ 16, and she didn't take it away, she supported me. I never didn't end up pregnant out of the 4 years I took it. Now I'm 22 yrs.old and expecting my first child in July.
