Australia and New Zealand at the same time...how much time do you have? What do you want to see/experience? They both have so much to offer.
I spent 3 weeks in New Zealand and Australia and was only able to see a little bit of both. However I enjoyed myself and will be going back to New Zealand for 3 weeks in September...then catch Australia on my next visit.
I have used these sites and found them very helpful. They are hosted by their tourism offices but give a good overview.

there are a few websites that have chat forums where you can get advice on where to go, what to see/do and receive
information from travellers like yourself = also you can read the travel diaries on the country listing from these websites
