I do things to take my mind off of it, my favorite things are to take a long hot bubble bath and read a book or watch a movie or tv show marathon.
Sometimes getting caught up in fictional peoples lives to escape my own can be just what I need every once in a while :)

I had the opportunity to work on a temperature trainer--with the object of learning to meditate. Next our group worked on Menningers Foundation Biofeedback section and on the brain wave audio feedback. I experienced "letting go" and went from the fast Beta brainwaves that we are normally in; through the Alpha--slower waves and then touched down into Theta--a very deep "thoughtless" state. The beep however startled me and brought me back up. But now I am able to go into a deep relaxation state by myself--not as deep as the yogis are, but certainly in a very relaxed state! And it only takes a few minutes...What that does is to move a lot of the excess blood flow from our brains used in thinking/worrying etc., and lets it flow down into our limbs. Very refreshing and relaxing.

I am a girl, so I would take a bubble bath with the lights off and candles lit. I find Pilates relaxing. Walking is relaxing and listening to my favorite music is relaxing. My dogs waiting for me in the morning...

I come here and talk to you and all the others online. This community is tops. I also like to travel so I will just take off anytime for a couple weeks to anywhere in the world. I retired comfortably so I can do that. Just came back from 17 days in Corpus Christi Texas and can recommend that to anyone. It is not a tourist place so you have to be comfortable with yourself and able to entertain yourself.

A long hot bath is
soothing.

Sometimes a stiff drink will do.

Otherwise a good movie.

I try not to hold my breath and extend my outward breath. Inward breath is instinctive and takes care of itself.
