Come on, people:

LIBERALS: The conservatives are not fascist corporation CEOs who only care about money and oil. Nor are they all Fundamentalist Christian rednecks living in trailer parks. They are normal people who sincerely believe that the conservative way is best for our country as a whole. They do not have a huge conspiracy about the war in Iraq only being about oil. They actually believe that the war is aiding in the freedom of the Iraqi people.

CONSERVATIVES: Liberals are not tree-hugging hippies, or bookworm professors with no social skills. They honestly believe in global warming, and honestly think the war in Iraq is a bad idea. They believe this because they think it is best for America.

Stop hating and arguing with each other and come up with actual solutions.

Sorry for the rant.

Hemmingway: I am aware of this. I am referring to the stereotypical view each takes on the opposite side. I could go into further detail, but decided to just address the most major issues. No two people's political beliefs are exactly alike.

I think it is because we assign the fallacies of a parties leadership to those who vote for them. I'm talking both liberal and conservative here. I have friends in both parties and our conversations are far more civilized than here on yahoo or other blogs. People tend to use the relative anonymity of the internet to be nastier than they normally would be in public I think. While as a liberal, I can be critical of Bush, I also know that all the conservatives that voted for him don't believe in everything he's done. I had problems with some of Clinton's decisions.

But I agree that we should direct our criticism toward the elected politicians and not each other. Then we need to discuss intelligently the ways to make changes for the better. Instead of me, me, me; ask what do YOU need to make America better for you? Then we can talk about what I need as well.

How can I refer to other people if I can't use some sort of term that describes them pretty well? Besides, I don't consider the term Conservative a slur no matter who says it. It is the Liberals who have run away from the Liberal banner. Shame on them. They should be proud to be Liberals. Instead of the craven cowards that they are. How's that for a generalization?

One problem: your definition is cliche and does not necessarily follow the ideology of true Liberalism or Conservatism. You are basing your assessment on what you've read on Yahoo Answers. Both Liberals and Conservatives would argue that the philosophies to which they subscribe are much more complex than those you cited.

Liberals provably do cause harm to this country.
They encourage others to hate us, because after watching liberals, they think we hate ourselves.
They damage the military by cutting funding and accusing our troops of atrocities.
They damage our economy by imposing ridiculous regulations and allowing frivolous lawsuits.
They damage our culture by giving constitutional protections to gay pride parades replete with transvestites and other sexual deviants while out of the other side of their mouth they declare manger scenes at Chrismas to be offensive.
They damage our education system by supporting the teachers unions, whos goals have nothing to do with improving education, in fact, usually the opposite.
They damage our criminal justice system by hampering the prosecution of dangerous felons and opposing the death penalty.
They damage our security by trying to take away our right to defend ourselves by chipping away at the second amendment.
They damage our morals by protecting the ability of murderers to kill a child moments before it is born.
They damage our right to be a soveriegn nation by allowing anyone, anyone, to come here and stay without any documentation.
This list is endless, but libs still think they are never wrong. While republicans have and do step down if they cross the line, libs have to be dragged kicking and screaming. Look at Rep. William Jefferson's freezer for proof, he's still in office, and libs gave him a standing ovation when he was reelected. Look at Algore telling us the apocalypse is coming while he sucks up energy almost as fast as he does food. Look at Rosie telling us we shouldn't own guns whiles she employs armed body guards. The word liberal says it all, stupid, hypocritical, arrogant, dishonest, and racist. Actually, it says much more, but Yahoos policys prohibit that kind of talk.

I'm sorry, your right. Unfortunately conflict is human nature and when people start throwing stones, they usually get some thrown back at them.
