I have an important thing tomorrow, and one of my buttons fell of the thing I am going to wear. I have the thread and button still, but I don't have a needle. Does anyone know a subsitute for one I can use. Like house hold items.

Depending on the type of button, you may be able to use a safety pin. If the front of the button is solid (no holes) and there is a little thing on the back with a hole in it (called a shank) you can just use a safety pin to attach it in place. If the button that came off is a top button, you might be able to get away with pinning it together on the inside or using a piece of jewelry (like a brooch) on the outside. Otherwise, needles are one of those items that are hard to replace...even convenience stores sell inexpensive "sewing kits" with needles and thread...you probably have enough time to get one and sew that sucker back on...or change what you were going to wear.

There's no substitute for a needle. Fortunately, they are inexpensive and sold in the craft section of many department stores.

Have you ever taken one of those little sewing kits they provide in motels?? Check your overnight bag...I bet you have one and it would have a needle in it. :)
