and the fishes fins. I checked the ph it seemed a little low so i added some regulator and one of my fish (a ryukin) survived. The lionhead's (the one that died) fins were all torn. It did't seem like any bullying but i was just wondering what the disease was and if it should be a cause for concern

Unless your pH is outside the range of 6-8, there's no need to try and adjust it. Most fish don't need to be kept at a perfect "7", and very few need to have the pH adjusted unless it a species that has a very specific high or low pH requirement. You'll cause more stress to a fish by having it fluctuate than to just use your water as-is.

Your lionhead may have has a case of fin rot from your description. This is usually a white, cottony growth without too much damage to the actual fins, and can be treated with Maroxy - see photos: http://www.fishpalace.org/Disease.html#Finfungus

If there was a lot more damage to the fins, it may be a bacterial fin rot: http://www.fishpalace.org/Disease.html#Finrot For this I'd suggest using Furanace.

I'd start by doing a water change, then keeping an eye on your ryukin. There's no need to treat needlessly unless he's showing symptoms, but if you can identify what the lionhead had, at least you might be prepared for what you might need to treat for if he does start showing signs of the same condition.

Could be a disease but it might also be bites from other fishes. many of the fishes are not compatible with goldfish, they fight, rip their scales and bite their fins. If you have any other species of fish in the same aquarium rather than goldfish try searching the internet or ask someone in the pet shop weather they fight or not. If you do not have other species of fish in the same aquarium it might be a disease, use one of the treatments above in the comments area suggested by others. Hope it helps.
