As an Aussie, the burger would have to have slices beetroot in it. Maybe if I was particularly hungry, an egg, some bacon and a slice of pineapple on top of the meat pattie (with the cheese a bit melty on top).
Shredded lettuce, sliced tomato and lots of fried onions with a splodge of barbecue sauce make a fantastic burger with 'the lot'. I think to make this meal truly sublime, I would add a small serve of thick-cut potato chips with lashings of chicken salt and a bottle of pineapple juice. Ahhhhh, drool, HEAVEN!.

Burton's Grill in Hingham, MA, really knows how to make the best medium-rare-on the rare side burger. My absolute favorite way to order it is with their yummy Mediterranean Salad (grape tomatoes, cucumber, red onion, black olives, green olives, feta cheese and shredded lettuce). When I'm their after 4, I can get it served with their Baked Potato which is the absolute best you will ever have. They rub it with salt before baking and serve it with butter, sour cream and chives. Mmmmmmmmmmmmmm
