It's country and a really touching song.

The only song I can think of that is about a mother is The God That Failed by Metallica, but it's definately not a Mothers Day song....sorry

For mother's day, eh... I guess Mother by Pink Floyd is out then. Julia by The Beatles (the White Album first disc), was written by John Lennon for his mother who died when she was run over by a bus; it's a nice acoustic piece.
