Yes... Mormons DO read the Bible... right along with the Book of Mormon... we carry both and reference from both. We study from both. The Book of Mormon actually compliments the Bible....
I wonder if the people who say such non-sense have ever read the Book of Mormon... I have read both... many times over.
People mock what they don't understand... and that's OK... someday they will be open minded and may look into it so they can form an educated opinion.

simple, any other christina theology, I have studied, does not believe they will evolve into a God or Goddess, maybe pagan, so that would make you wicca/christian. Seeing that your God is a God and has many wives = goddesses, that = a god and goddesses and makes it many gods that you worship and not one. Jesus also has three wives, from what I was taught as a Mormon for 36 years and no other christian faith, teaches this. No other christians theology believes in poligamy and I know ya;all believe in it, even if you don't practise it, remember I use to be Mormon. Mormons never say the sinners prayer and so I know none of you are saved and you profess to be. You can't automatically be saved without first admitting you need a savior, you are a sinner and you need to be forgiven and need to be saved and say the prayer and become saved. The only thing that makes you remotely close to a christian is your family values, your no smoking, or drinking, or drug taking policy, your no sex before marriage, beyong that you are not christian. I have never seen a cross in a mormon chruch ,but I have seen plenty of the angel Maroni statue on the temples blowing the horn. No other christians knows who this person is and I am not sure I spelled his name right. There is also the prejudice thing with the war in heaven.

I am for the most part disappointed by organized religion. Their two issue way of voting, "gays and abortions" have hurt this country a great deal by electing less than desirable leaders to run our country b/c they speak out against those two issues.
With that being said, Mormons are some of the nicest Christians I have ever met. They welcome all w/ open arms and they truly try to practice what they preach. I can respect that. I wish you let more into your temples though, I don't think Jesus would want it set up the way you have it...but you can obviously do what you want. Jesus loves the poor (who can't tithe), the addicts (coffee and cigs) just as much the ones who for many different reasons are able to overcome these weaknesses.

Because most of them don't do an ounce of research. They hear someone call Mormons a "cult" so they assume it's true.
I would really like to see these people who refer ro us as a "cult" visit our Church one Sunday. I've been a member for over 18 years and I've never seen anything cult-like.
The word "cult" is just used against faiths that people don't like.
Mormons are Christians.

1 all those tv specials of men with many wives and 24 kids all on welfare and not educating the girls past 8th grade. 2 Too many knocks at our doors, exmormons tell how they were excommunicated if they did not fork over 25% of salary, secret underwear the elder men 3 the food bank only for other mormans--Most Christ based churches give food to public who need it regardless of demomination (like Christ says to do) 4 Its a cult

eh... many think that if you don't believe exactly how they believe, you're going to h*ll...
be it Baptist, catholic or what...
Christ is the focal point of many, many religions... and some are pretty crazy cults out there... so just "believing in Christ" isn't a "magic ticket" to being recognized as a Christian for many... just saying...

Christians believe in the bible and the teachings of Jesus Christ.
Mormons believe in parts of the bible and the book of Mormon, which are the beliefs of a single man. Which is cult like.

Probably because not too many people outside of Utah and the West really have exposure to LDS people.

They are Christians in that Christ is part of their religion, but the whole infinite progression of God once being man and populating his own universe and then you someday becoming a god with your descendants being your subjects is closer to Hinduism than Christian theology.

Ignorance is why people don't think LDS'ers are christians. They are christians but very different in beliefs than other christian religions. Sort of like 7th day adventist or Jehovahs witness-- they're VERY different from say Catholics, Lutherans, Episcapalians, Greek Orthodox, etc.
And I'm sick of people raggin on Catholics-- in case you guys forgot history of christianity-- Catholicsm was the first christian religion-- ever heard of Peter (the first pope?) All other forms of christianity are off-shoots or break-aways from Catholicism. I have no issue with any of them btw---
Actually, oddly enough the first Christians were Jews....It wasn't really until gentiles joined early christianity that it really broke way from judism.
